A noble musician/composer who practices broad creation from electronic music to acoustic movie soundtrack all over the world.
Bio
Yoshihiro Hanno (半野喜弘), also known as RADIQ, is a noble musician/composer who practices broad creation from electronic music to acoustic movie sound track in all over the world and writes music basing on his own stance and point of view. Based in Osaka, Multiphonic Ensemble aka Yoshihiro Hanno has been exploring since 1988 the many faces of music including drum'n'bass, hip hop, soundtrack, and post-free jazz with an obvious taste for fusion. In 1997 he was highly acclaimed for his electronic music releases in Europe, with his "King of May" album having been released as Multiphonic Ensemble from Belgian "Sub Rosa" imprint, which was highly acclaimed as a "giant step of electronics music" and "most important electronics album in last few years." In 1998, he collaborated with ex-Japan bassist Mick Karn on "Liquid Glass" and performed a restructured version of Ravel's "Pavane for a Dead Princess" with the New Japan Philharmonic. His debut solo album "Portrait of a Poet" received praise from artists like Jim O'Rourke and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Hanno entered film composition, scoring "Flowers of Shanghai" (selected for Cannes Film Festival competition). He subsequently composed scores for "Platform" (Venice and Buenos Aires Festival awards), "Cannon," and "All Tomorrow's Parties" (Cannes selection). By 2000, he served as musical director for Yomiuri TV's "Eien No Ko" alongside Sakamoto and joined Sakamoto's "CODE" unit as "hoon." He launched his own "Cirque" label and released "9 modules. +" (2002) and the critically acclaimed "Lido" (2003), featuring collaborations with Arto Lindsey and Joan La Barbara. In 2004, under the RADIQ moniker, he released "Graffiti & Rude Boy 67," blending minimal electro with hip-hop, dub, and jazz influences.
Extra (genre, salles, comparaisons…)
Genre : electronic, experimental techno, trip-hop, film score. Né à Osaka en 1968. Collaborations notables : Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mick Karn (ex-Japan), Arto Lindsay, Joan La Barbara. Films : Flowers of Shanghai (Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Cannes), Platform (Jia Zhang-ke, Venise). Alias : RADIQ, Multiphonic Ensemble. Label propre : Cirque. Comparaison Sarah Coponat : tous deux compositeurs à la croisée du classique et de l'électronique, mais Hanno penche côté cinéma/expérimental là où Sarah est néo-classique/émotion immersive.
