"A soulful elegy for a Britain which has lost its bearings" — The Guardian (à propos de The Eleventh Hour)
Bio
Pianist and composer Anne Lovett has been described as one of the greatest artists of her generation, with a crystalline and beautiful tonal clarity and huge sonic power (an unusual combination), plus absolute virtuosity and a rare musical intelligence, expressiveness and ability to communicate. Combining virtuosity and creativity in her own piano works, her music has been described as fresh and exciting akin to a rock or pop concert with the distinctive emotional depth of classical music and has earned her a steady international following. 2014 sees her signing a publishing deal with major publishing house, Faber Music in London. Like Erik Satie, Anne Lovett was born in Normandie, France. She began piano lessons at the age of three and few years later entered the CNR de Caen with Frederic Aguessy. She then went on to study at the Conservatoire Superieur de Paris with Pierre Reach (a pupil of the great Artur Rubinstein) and Alberto Neuman (a rare student of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli). At the age of just eleven, she was invited to perform in concert at the Festival International d'Annecy, and a year later at the Festival International de Montdauphin. Despite her classical background, Anne developed a great interest in other musical genres. She studied jazz and improvised music with Samy Abenaim of the Bill Evans Piano Academy in Paris, and later free improvisation with Keith Tippett. Anne then moved to the UK to further her education at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Hamish Milne. She also studied composition with Ruth Byrchmore, chamber music with Michael Dussek, and jazz with Dominic Alldis. She then undertook a Masters in Composition at Kings College, London where she received tuition by Rob Keeley and George Benjamin. During her academic years, Anne took part in many masterclasses, including those run by Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Roger Muraro, Miriam Solovieff, Andrei Diev, John O'Connor and Rolf Hind. Since graduating, Anne has performed throughout Europe, in countries including Portugal, Norway, Italy, England, and France, as well as in Brazil. She has represented France and the UK in official engagements in both concerts and masterclasses. Her concerts have been broadcasted on BBC radio 3, BBC radio 4, Radio France-France Musique, Mezzo TV as well as France 3 and ZDF in Germany and ABC Classic FM radio in Australia. Her album The Eleventh Hour achieved several million plays on the streaming platforms. Anne is an official KAWAI artist.

Bio
Anne Lovett is a French pianist and composer residing in London. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music and King's College London. She released her first album, Beyond (and Below), in 2012 under the record label Discovery Records, which received critical acclaim in Gramophone Awards and is now being distributed worldwide. The record comprises the artist's own piano works, an unusual artistic gesture in the contemporary classical world where most virtuoso performers tend to perform other composers' music. She released an album with violinist Giovanni Guzzo in 2013 on the label Champs Hill Records. In October 2018, The Eleventh Hour was released on the label 1631 Recordings and published by Faber in London. She was joined on the album by the London Contemporary Orchestra as well as Oliver Coates on cello. The Guardian described the album as "a soulful elegy for a Britain which has lost its bearings." "Nocturne with Oliver Coates" was featured in a Burberry campaign and For Now on The Fix for ABC Studios in the U.S. In 2020, Lovett was commissioned to write Infinity, a new work for British vocal ensemble Voces8. It was released on Decca Classics in August 2021.

Due to production difficulties with her original concert, Anne has decided to alter the programme for her event and will now play pieces by composers and singers who have an obvious or a surprising connection with Paris: Poulenc, Faure, Debussy, Satie, Michel Legrand, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole and Nina Simone. Normandy-born Anne will also show us how their music has shaped her own flowing and inspiring compositions. A veritable taste of France.
