Jean-Frédéric Neuburger has rapidly established himself as one of the most gifted musicians of his generation. He is an admired interpreter of a broad repertoire from Bach to composers of the twenty-first century. His career takes him to perform with the world's most prestigious orchestras: New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia, London Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Radio France Philharmonic, Bamberg Symphony, NHK Symphony orchestras with such conductors as Lorin Maazel, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jonathan Nott, Osmo Vanska, Ingo Metzmacher, Kazuki Yamada, and Pierre Boulez, with whom he worked closely on the composer's Second Piano Sonata. Recent highlights included a tour of Asia with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Jonathan Nott, performances as soloist with François-Xavier Roth and the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, a recital at the opening weekend of La Scala in Paris and performances at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Lucerne Festival in a programme of Rihm, Schumann and the premiere of Alavo by Vito Zuraj under the auspices of the Berlin Philharmonic Academy. Regularly invited to as a guest artist at international festivals such as Verbier, Lucerne, Menton, La Roque-d'Anthéron, Saratoga, La Jolla Music Society, as a chamber musician, he performs with Renaud Capuçon, Bertrand Chamayou, Tatjana Vassiljeva, the Thymos, Modigliani and Ebène quartets. Jean-Frédéric Neuburger devotes a significant part of his musical activity to contemporary music, and has played the world premiere of piano pieces written by Bruno Mantovani, Phillip Maintz, Yves Chauris and of Echo-Daimonon, the concerto for piano and electronics by Philippe Manoury. An acclaimed composer, his works include Aube, commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Christoph von Dohnányi and later performed by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre de Paris, his Piano Concerto No. 1 which he premiered by Philharmonique de Radio France and Jonathan Stockhammer in 2018 and most recently Faits et gestes commissioned and premiered with François-Xavier Roth and the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln in 2019. Jean-Frédéric extensive discography on the Mirare label reflects his eclectic and varied repertoire - Ravel, Bach, Brahms, Liszt, Debussy, Neuburger, Hérold, Barraqué etc - and has received great acclaim in France and from the international press. Having received an early musical education in piano, composition and organ at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger studied composition in Geneva with Michael Jarrell. He was awarded the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Prize by the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 2010, and the Hervé Dugardin Prize of the Sacem in 2015.

He performed with the world's most prestigious orchestras: New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia, London, Paris orchestras with such conductors as Lorin Maazel, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Michael Tilson Thomas and Pierre Boulez. He is Invited by the main international festivals (Verbier, Lucerne, Klavier-Ruhr Festival, La Roque d'Anthéron, Saratoga, La Jolla Music Society) where he performs as a chamber musician with the most brilliant musicians of his generation. Well-known composer, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger receives numerous commissions performed by Paris, Israël, Boston orchestras under the baton of Christoph von Dohnányi and Pascal Rophé. His chamber music works is played at the Lincoln Center, the Lucerne Festival, the Vienna Musikverein, the Louvre Auditorium, The Sage Gateshead … In 2019, the Güzernich Orchestra made the premiere Faits et Gestes. Jean-Frédéric Neuburger devotes a significant part of his musical activity to contemporary music. His music has been published since 2012 at Durand (Universal Music Publishing). Jean-Frédéric Neuburger received the Lili and Nadia Boulanger Prize from the Académie des Beaux-Arts and the Hervé Dugardin Prize from Sacem. Since 2009, he has held the piano accompaniment class (former class of Nadia Boulanger) at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris and organizes many artistic events. Born in 1986 in Paris, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger studied organ, piano and composition before entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris at the age of thirteen, from which he graduated in 2005 with five first prizes. Jean-Frédéric Neuburger has received numerous commissions, notably from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Evian Festival, Radio-France, the International Long-Thibaud Competition and the Folles Journées de Nantes. His works have been performed by the Orchestre de Paris and the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Christoph von Dohnanyi and the Chœur et l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under Pascal Rophé. His chamber music works have been performed by Henri Demarquette, François Salque, Nicolas Dautricourt, Lise Berthaud, Raphaël Sévère, Bertrand Chamayou in venues such as the Lincoln Center, Lucerne Festival, Musikverein Vienna. He performs as a soloist with the most prestigious orchestras (New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, NHK Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse…) and collaborates with renowned conductors such as François-Xavier Roth, Paavo Jarvi, David Zinman, Jonathan Nott, Michael Tilson Thomas. He has also worked with Pierre Boulez notably to study his Second Piano Sonata. In January 2014, the Louvre Auditorium offered him carte blanche for six concerts. He is invited by the most important international festivals (Verbier, Lucerne, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, La Roque d'Anthéron, Saratoga, La Jolla Music Society) and as a chamber musician he performs with the most brilliant musicians of his generation, such as the Quatuor Modigliani, Bertrand Chamayou, Renaud Capuçon, Raphaël Sévère. Recently, he has been heard in Brazil and at the Festival Musica de Strasbourg with Jean-François Heisser in Stockhausen's Mantra, in Boston with Christoph von Dohnányi for Schumann's Piano Concerto, as well as at the Lincoln Center in New York for the US premiere of his piece Plein Ciel. In February 2018 he gave the critically acclaimed premiere of his own piano concerto with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Jonathan Stockhammer. He has also performed at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Lucerne Festival with a program of works by Rihm and Schumann, as well as the premiere of Vito Zuraj's Alavo with the musicians of the Berlin Philharmonic Academy. He devotes an important part of his interpretative activity to the diffusion of today's music: in 2012 he premieres Philippe Manoury's Piano Concerto with the Paris Orchestra conducted by Ingo Metzmacher as well as works by Bruno Mantovani, Phillip Maintz, Yves Chauris. The "Live at Suntory Hall" released in 2008 received a "Choc" from Le Monde de la Musique and his recording of Ferdinand Herold's Piano Concertos received a "Choc" from Classica. Jean-Frédéric Neuburger (born 29 December 1986) is a French pianist, organist, and composer. His repertoire extends from Bach to Barraqué and the works of his own contemporaries. He was born in Paris on 29 December 1986. When he was eight years old he began studying piano at the Académie Maurice Ravel in Saint-Jean de Luz and then added studies in organ and composition. He entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2000, where he received highest honors in piano, accompaniment, improvisation at the piano and at the organ, and chamber music. He has won a number of prizes including First Prize at the 2002 Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists; Second Prize and the Beethoven Prize at the 2004 José Iturbi Piano Competition; Third Grand Prix, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France Prize, the Audience Favorite Prize and the Sacem Prize at the 2004 Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris; and Second Prize at the 2005 London International Piano Competition. He won the 2006 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, where he was also awarded the John Browning Memorial Prize and the Rhoda Walker Teagle Prize, which in December 2006 sponsored his New York debut at Zankel Hall and his debut recital in Washington, D.C, at the Kennedy Center. He also won First Prize in the 2005 Young Concert Artists European Auditions. In 2014, the Auditorium du Louvre held a series of seven concerts entitled "Jean-Frédéric Neuburger and Friends" in which he was featured as both performer and composer. Since 2009, he has taught the renowned Classe d'Accompagnement at the Conservatoire de Paris. He has played the premiere performances of many works including Alberti by Christian Lauba at the festival Les Semaines musicales in Quimper in 2013 and at the Strasbourg music festival in 2014.
