Hania Rani (born Hanna Raniszewska in 1990) is a Polish pianist, composer and singer. She was born in Gdańsk to parents who work as a doctor and architect. She studied music at the Feliks Nowowiejski Music School in Gdańsk, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Originally trained as a classical pianist, Rani began incorporating jazz into her work during music school. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she started experimenting with improvisation and composing. She has blurred traditional distinctions between jazz, classical and house music. As of 2025, she has won seven Fryderyk Awards. She won the Paszport Polityki award in 2023. In 2024, ITV commissioned a piece by Rani for the opening credits of their football coverage for the England national football team. She won the European Film Award for Best Composer (2026) for Sentimental Value.

The piece examines modern conflicts (Ukraine invasion, Gaza genocide) through media representation, juxtaposing precisely scored music with the beauty of momentum to create emotional resonance around distant human suffering.
